Roadside Protection Plus Insurance

All rentals include a 24/7 emergency phone line for guidance and coordinating help. Roadside Protection Plus is what covers the actual service cost of that help, including lost keys, towing, flat tires, battery jumpstarts, rescue from snow, mud, or F-roads, and wrong fuel rescue. With protection, all of these are 0 euros. Without it, the renter is responsible for the service cost.

No. It is an additional coverage available for purchase and is not included in any of our insurance packages. It covers the service cost of roadside assistance rather than damage to the vehicle.

No. Roadside Protection Plus is a separate add-on and can be added regardless of which insurance tier you choose.

Yes. Since it sits outside the Silver, Gold, and Platinum tiers, it can be added to any of them.

Payment is made on the spot to 24RA, the company that handles roadside assistance for us. Once we assess the callout, the cost is fully refunded if it is covered under Roadside Protection Plus.

If you get a flat tire, Roadside Protection Plus covers the service cost of getting help to change it. This is separate from Tire Protection, included in Platinum, which covers repairing or replacing the tire itself.

Roadside Protection Plus covers the towing and service cost if you put the wrong fuel in the vehicle. It does not cover any damage caused to the vehicle as a result of the wrong fuel, such as engine or fuel system damage, which remains the renter's responsibility.

Yes, battery jumpstarts are included at no cost with Roadside Protection Plus.

Roadside Protection Plus applies to genuine emergencies. You are expected to take reasonable steps to resolve minor issues yourself, such as using the provided spare tire, and we reserve the right to charge for a callout that was unnecessary or could have been avoided.

Towing is generally covered under Roadside Protection Plus, but large or dangerous river crossings are banned under the rental agreement, so if you get stuck attempting one, the callout is not covered and the towing cost becomes your responsibility. Any resulting water or underside damage to the vehicle is also not covered by any insurance option, and a deposit of up to 7,000 euros may be charged in these cases.

No. Roadside Protection Plus covers genuine emergencies only, so callouts for non-emergency situations are not covered.

Accidents are handled under your insurance coverage, not Roadside Protection Plus. Roadside Protection Plus covers the service cost of things like breakdowns, towing, and recovery, while damage from an accident falls under your CDW, SCDW, or other insurance options.

No. If you drive after an official weather warning has been issued and ignore it, the resulting callout is not covered under Roadside Protection Plus.
