Cancellation Policy

1. General Terms

All cancellations must be submitted through the customer’s online account using the official cancellation portal available at https://www.gocarrental.is/reservation/find/. The effective date and time of the cancellation will be the moment the submission is completed through the portal. Cancellations made through other channels will not be considered valid unless expressly confirmed in writing by Go Car Rental Iceland.

2. Refundable Payment Option

If the refundable payment option was selected at the time of booking, customers are entitled to a full refund, provided that the cancellation is submitted no later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled rental start date and time. Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within a reasonable timeframe once the cancellation has been confirmed.

3. Non-Refundable Bookings

Bookings made without the refundable payment option are not eligible for a monetary refund. However, if the cancellation is submitted at least 24 hours prior to the rental start date, the customer will receive a voucher equal to the total amount paid. This voucher may be applied toward a future booking with Go Car Rental Iceland and will remain valid for 12 months from the date of issue.

4. Late Cancellations

Cancellations submitted less than 24 hours before the rental start date are not eligible for a refund or voucher. The total booking amount will be retained as a cancellation fee.

5. Processing and Service Fees

If a cancellation is submitted less than 10 days prior to the rental start date, a Processing and Service Fee of €30 will apply. This fee will be deducted from any applicable refund or voucher amount.

6. Refund Processing Time

All approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Please note that refunds may take up to 10 business days to appear in the customer’s account, depending on the policies and processing times of the customer’s bank or payment provider. Go Car Rental Iceland is not responsible for delays caused by third-party financial institutions.

7. Currency Exchange Fluctuations

Refunds are always processed in Euros (EUR) or Icelandic Króna (ISK), depending on the currency used for the original payment. Customers may experience minor variations in the refunded amount due to exchange rate fluctuations, international transaction fees, or bank conversion costs applied by their financial institution. These variations are outside the control of Go Car Rental Iceland, which cannot be held responsible for any discrepancies caused by currency conversion or third-party processing.

8. No-Show Policy

Failure to collect the rental vehicle at the scheduled start time without submitting a cancellation through the online portal will be considered a no-show. In such cases, the booking will be automatically canceled, and no refund or voucher will be provided.

9. Amendments to Policy

Go Car Rental Iceland reserves the right to modify or update this Cancellation Policy at any time without prior notice. Any revisions will take effect immediately upon publication on the official website and will apply to all new bookings made thereafter.
