Booking Your Rental Car
All rentals that are booked on our car rental website include:

Please note that all insurances can be declined.
While Credit Cards are the most convenient way to pay for your booking, they are not required. You can also use a debit card if you pay online.
Yes, you can choose between two payment options when booking the car: 100% prepayment. 5% confirmation payment with the rest paid upon arrival.
Yes! Valitor, the biggest and most reputable credit card processing business in Iceland handles all of our payments. All of their credit card transactions are confirmed to be PCI DSS compliant.

Yes, you have to be at least 20 years old to rent a car with us. That includes a 2WD car or a medium-sized 4WD vehicle. If you're looking for a luxury car rental or a large 4WD Vehicle, you have to be at least 23 years old.
Yes, the minimum time we require for a car rental is 24 hours. You can still return the car earlier if you don't need it for a full 24-hour period, but the minimum charge is one day.
You need a valid driver's license as well as a credit card or debit card. The license must be current and display the name of the driver. If you have an additional driver on your rental car, they also need to display a valid driver's license.
Almost certainly, although we will need to understand the writing on it, so it needs to be in Western alphabetical letters.
Otherwise, we will need to see a translated copy of your driver's license in English or you will need to have an international driver's license.
If not, make sure to bring an International Driver's License/Translation.
We do not take any deposit from our clients during their car rental. We do however need to see a valid credit card on arrival, which we require to take an imprint of as a guarantee.
If the renter does not have a credit card, we will require them to purchase our premium or premium plus+ insurance package.
Yes, the only area where there is no possible insurance at all, is when crossing rivers.
However, if you have a 2wd rental car, you are not allowed to go on F-roads and therefore, you are not insured while driving on F-roads and you will be liable for fines and costs of repairing any damage to the chassis of the rental car.
Yes, you can modify your reservation after completing your booking. All you have to do is click the link to “My booking”. If you run into any issues, please reach out to us! You can use our live chat feature on the website or give us a call.
Yes, you can cancel 24 hour prior to your rental and get a full refund (100%) but in case of no show or cancellation the same day, the full rental price will be charged (100%).

Equipment
This will depend on which vehicle you choose! It is important to find out how many suitcases you are bringing in advance, that way you can make the right decision. You can view all of your rental cars here, which have luggage space detailed per vehicle in the description.

Every year from the first of November to the fifteenth of April, all of our rental cars are equipped with studded winter tires. Regulations and rules in Iceland prohibit the use of studded tires during other times.
Yes and we highly recommend it!
Our portable WiFi router comes with unlimited data and can be used by multiple devices. The Wifi will work all over Iceland not just in the city. Stay updated on the latest weather and road conditions, or just simply use your phone/computer to binge your favorite movies or tv shows.
Picking Up Your Rental Car
Keflavik International Airport
Our office is only 300m away from the international airport. We are located in the same building as the Airport Aurora Hotel.
You can take a shuttle bus to our office or walk.

Reykjavik (main office)
Our main office is located in Hafnarfjordur, the town of the Vikings and the Elves! It is a suburb of the capital Reykjavik.
You can pick up the rental car at our main office or we can pick you up!
You can get a free pick up and drop off in the Reykjavik area with our shuttle bus between 09:00 -17:00 every day.
Our office is open daily from 06:00 - 20:00 except for holidays, but returns and our self-service pick-up are open 24/7 365.

We are closed for Pick-Ups on the following dates at the Reykjavik location, December 24th, December 25th, and December 31st from 14:00 and January 1st until 14:00
We have a self-service pickup option available at Keflavik International Airport that is open 24/7 365.
In an unusual scenario like that, we will make sure to give you a similar model of the vehicle. We want to make sure you get what you pay for! So we would discuss this with you at the time of pickup if it were to ever happen.
The renter of the vehicle must have a credit card OR debit card when picking up the vehicle. We prefer credit cards. We also accept Debit Cards.
If you do not have a credit card we will require you to purchase the premium or premium plus+ insurance package.
After Rental Car Pickup
Tolls will be charged electronically in certain road tunnels or national parks. For a detailed list of what you can expect, check out our Guide To Toll Roads. Most roads in Iceland are free to drive on!

We have friendly workshops positioned all around Iceland that can fix the car. If that doesn't work out, we will bring you another car as soon as possible. But with our maintenance policy, we have never experienced such a situation and we aim to keep it that way.
The roadside assistance is completely free from 06:00 to 20:00 (06:00 am to 8:00 pm) but after hours we charge 12.500 isk per phone call.
No, it's not permitted to sleep in your rental car. But our partners at Go Campers offer all sorts of camper vans for rental which you can sleep in. We share an office with them so we recommend that you check them out if you are thinking about camping out on your road trip.
If you go you www.gsmbensin.is, you can see up-to-date prices varying from the cheapest stations up to the most expensive ones, It's usually just a matter of a 2-3 krone per liter difference.
We also give out free Discount cards for use at gas stations in Iceland.
Usually, they are positioned every 50 km around the Ring Road but make sure you fill up the tank before you go into the Highlands as we have only a few stations located there.
Dropping Off Your Rental Car
Yes, you will receive the rental car with a full tank and you will need to return the car with a full tank. If the fuel tank is not filled, we will charge a 35€ service fee on top of the fuel charge.
No, there is no limit on the kilometers you can drive per day. All short-term rentals have unlimited mileage included.
Yes, just put the keys in our after-hour drop box and we will inspect the rental car and close the contract the next day.
